Future NRL coaches

Who do you think might make a good NRL coach in the future? Are there any ex players that you think might make good coaches? Not for Manly strictly....just in the NRL.

I think Mark Gasnier might make a good coach. He gets excited when talking footy and he makes a lot of sense. Tactically he's very astute. Combine that with his enthusiasm and I think he could take over the dragons one day.

Brandy would I think, and one of ours would be gifty.
I heard him talk once on how he did what he did and his thoughts on getting there.
He was impressive in his thinking and communication.

Matt Ballin is another. He's very cool, calm and collected...and he has a good knowledge of the game. I think blokes would respond to him.

Slater, Cronk and sCam as they are onfield coaches already and that is the footy brains that most Teams lack.

He could be assistant to Greg Inglis, that would be great listening. The players would need an interpreter

Slater, Cronk and sCam as they are onfield coaches already and that is the footy brains that most Teams lack.

I think they’ll have their plates full as refs coaches (unless they retire from those roles when they retire from playing)

Really hard question, as you don't see what goes on behind the scenes and obviously great players don't always translate to great coaches

Plus there are so many things that come into a great coach....I listen to Joey's analysis and he certainly has the tactical know how but I cannot she him having the discipline or work ethic

The two obvious ones even though I dislike them are Cronk and Smith

From the outside looking in Peter Wallace and then obviously Kitey is showing some promise

Lewis Brown would be sensational at coaching a under 6's oztag team.

I reckon Trent Barrett could do well in the nrl, not a bad player in his day and had good results with the country team.
