Hindsight is a powerful tool but given we have just signed Trent on a 2 year deal wouldn't have been more prudent to have just locked up green last year on a longer deal?

Have a feeling we wouldn't be this low on the ladder had we pushed on from last year with the same spine.

TB's experiment with Croker didn't work at all and probably went a long way to causing the whole Hastings drama. You could imagine it from Hastings point. TB sticks with a player that's not really cutting it week in week out. That's always going to cause issue and problems.

So really other than the cap drama a lot of what's happened is all linked to letting green go.

People will say that he's hardly setting the world on fire at the Warriors but that team without Johnson is pretty thin. When they were going earlier this season it looked the best buy ever. A bit like when he was with DCE.

Green and his manager forced the issue, we didn't really have the choice to keep him. That decision was not ours. He had the option of a long term contract to see out his playing career and in the end we had to let him take it

Even Greenturd said we would have been over the cap if we paid Green the 600k for 3 years needed to make him stay.
It was impossible to keep him, no hindsight needed, but yeah, we would be a lot better off now if we could have kept him.

You Sure? It seems like The team doesn't even know where we stand on the cap. pretty sure we don't either. Has it actually ever been said that green was released for the cap by anyone other than a fox sports or Daily Telegraph reporter????

The issue was only forced when we made it clear we didn't want to extend his contract.

I find it funny when comments are made about 'player x ' didn't want to be part of our thing.... To the majority of players its just a JOB. If someone comes to you at your desk and says 'hey Harry, come over here and i will pay you more for longer' most on here would jump faster than Peter Rabbit. Sure you will always get the marters that say 'oh i wouldn't do it' blah blah blah but thats the reality. These guys have a limited time to make their money so good luck to them.

Just going by an NRL article quoting Greenturd after the salary crap started. I take it he meant Green.s 600k plus the 330k penalty would have put us over.

No, I don't think it was deliberate cap math making the decision to let Green go, more like us not wanting to pay 600k PA to keep him.

Everyone is guessing how our cap is and my guess is we have around 100k left after the 330k penalty, upgrading Suli and signing Hodko for 100k for the rest of this year.

Green signed a contract and then decided he wanted an upgrade after reading too much of his own press in the papers. Green was solid and let Chez play his natural game. Hodko can potentially be an upgrade on him.
