Hales seems to have been well regarded at Manly from various comments I've read. Maybe broadening his experience is part of a journey to head coach somewhere down the track. Or just to be a sought-after assistant?

As for finding someone better? For Manly, might simply be a case of finding someone different. Seibold going into this 4th year ... the players will need something new to freshen up the messaging.
Maybe someone slimmer ( I know I know, but how many tubby successful NRL coaches can you name)
for the record I need to lose about 5 kilos (well, 3 or 4 anyway) and I love Hales.

I'd love Ballin to become a master coach at Manly. Don't know the bloke though and he did not impress coaching lower grades, from everything I've heard.
Give him a go as assistant, why not? What have we go to lose - aside from another season without a premiership! 🤷‍♂️

I think it is pretty evident that not many people want to be apart of an Anthony Seibold coaching staff. Hales gone, Ennis gone, Daley says no, Ballin says no. I don’t see why we are sticking with Seibold, he got a wooden spoon with the Broncos (biggest club in the NRL) that says it all.
