Wolfman looks injured to me. Apparently back probs. Worried me especially in defence last week.
Love him, has done a great job.

But for this game I'd put Hiku the metre eater on the right wing, mainly to:
- cover for snake if Hammy goes.
- metres + skill under high ball
- keep bench full of forwards that we'll need against Burgesses.

Thoughts?

I agree totally if Snake is playing BUT I seriously doubt that Snake will be passed fit. It would be a wise move to do it if Snake does play.

Wolfie's defence has been a problem, but every other part of his game has been fantastic. He is enthusiastic, takes hit-ups, is diffusing bombs... I'd certainly not change him, although I believe Hiku should be in our 17.

PM'd you Mick.

Wolfie is the best finisher in the game, top try scorer for year and big game experience
Wolfie missed out on the 2011 GF, breaking his neck in getting Manly there :exclamation:

Hiku will have his time, he has just turned 21.

In finals time, we need players playing in their specialist position. And to me Wolfman is a winger, and Hiku is a fullback.

I agree to the idea in principle - but also agree it will never happen though.

Wolf was major factor in 2 of Sharks 3 tries last week. Wolf's attack has been great this year to be fair. But his defence is consistently a worry. He's a bit of a wild card, will score you more than Hiku , but lets plenty in too.

First Sharks try was a 3 on 1 with Wolfie - he is a Wolf not an Octopus :exclamation:

Second Sharks try was due to the man running past three of our fatigued forwards.
Wolfie falling off the tackle happened way before the forwards' line of defense:mad:

I think Hiku's preferred is centre but I think he will be playing fullback on Friday

Chances of brett playing a full game are slim to none, but 50 min off the bench against a tiring defense at lock as a "roaming additional player" sounds great and we wouldn't lose hiku's kick returns

Haha that's one of the best. Wouldn't last 2 minutes at lock.

No as a lock more like the roll bowan has played for qld in years gone by - just packing in there

Would be a crazy move to make and it won't happen if Wolfman is fit to play

Firstly he and Lyon have built a combo over a very long period which would be crazy to break

And in defence, he is only defending to a structure and it is very simplistic to blame him for every try down that side just because he is the outside man. That 1st try the other night that he has been hammered for is a great example, yes he missed the tackle on Gordon, but **** it isn't that easy when all the guys inside you have gone in field and left you to defend the fullback cutting it and also the centre and winger outside him. A lot of people say we don't want him coming in, he doesn't come in there and Gordon strolls over untouched and we ask why Wolfman was hugging the sideline and leaving 15m inside him

Hiku showed he still has some maturing to do on the field with regard to passing options after a break. He is a gun and his time will come. Wolfie is one of our top two wingers and will be picked accordingly.

BTW-What is plural for Burgess?
A Grip of Burgi'?
A group of squirrels is called a Scurry,
a scurry of Burgi'?
