Hi all,

I am looking for a few people to download the following files and tell me the general speeds they are getting are ok. You don't have to complete the downloads but run them for a few minutes and tell me how those speeds were for you, i.e. fast or not.

This is for the new server. I am looking at purchasing a server in Brisbane which should provide you with great speeds.

Also for the more savvy, can you please ping the following IP address and tell me the response times?

Ping: 87.76.16.10
10MB download http://87.76.16.10/test10.zip
100Mb file http://87.76.16.10/test100.zip

I get 330ms response times which isn't bad given I am in Europe and I currently get roughly the same times from our current server which is located in Hong Kong.

I am expecting you to get response times less than 100

Cheers All

Dan

PING! 206ms

4 packs sent 3 x 206 1 x 207

Plus found one submarine.

Yup that's not bad for moose country

Cheers that's about right for Europe, geographically it's a long hop for us to get there. The site will be slower for us expats on the new server but I want to cater to the larger audience in Australia as we have faster general internet speeds.

We will be moving to solid state however and trying to make sure we get 100mbps out instead of the 10 that some of the Aussie hosts have

The budget only stretches so far else I'd be co-locating the servers

100mbps file seems a tad slow but not too bad.

I am thinking we may have found a new host 38ms ping times are pretty good really

Hi Dan

Test from Canberra City on 3G Network

4 packets (32 bytes):
85ms, 250ms, 194ms, 272ms

I ran a test and sent about 50 packets, and im getting pings anywhere between 70 - 350ms. Im seeing alot around the 150 mark.

Could be because im using 3G.

As for the download, im downloading at about 150kbs.

Can i ask for the same tests to be run with the IP

67.20.55.14

Just determining difference between a US based server and Brisbane, based on network latency and speeds
