Injuries; we're not as badly off as some

Yes, we've had a horrific run with up to 11 players out through injury. Now we have five, if my calculations are correct. When compared to some clubs we, currently, are not too badly off. Doesn'tmatta has 10 injured players, The 'Rff and Gold Coke 8, and the Storm 6.
It's not surprising that Illawarra and Canberra are exceeding expectations with low injury tolls - just 2 each. It also seems that money can fix anything, as Easts have reportedly just one injured player. Ironic, really, as Easts have a second-string 13 that could beat most other clubs top team.

Yep, and they could afford to send Blake Ferguson off to the US for specialist treatment.

I guess the difference is that we may have less out NOW than others, but we've had a heap out all year, not to mention the catastrophic loss of key players early in games..

Our injuries are to key players who are on big coin, hence their replacements are average or above average due to lack of depth because of the salary cap.

When we won our last 2 premierships we hardly had any injuries in those seasons.

Manly and Penrith have chief play makers out - Foran, Killer, Snake - Sowie/Idris/Molan
So the number is irrelevant.

Plus Ferris and Gutho went off for the season in Round 1, with BJ and Starlo not looking for much game time this year either

Whats really killed us this year is most of our injuries have been in game and usually early as well. In particular injuries to outside backs which has resulted in reshuffles that ultimately weakens both the forwards and the backs and affects our rotations. I don't think that particular aspect has been highlighted enough.

Apart from the donkeys game we haven't been awful lately. It was really in between Melbourne games that we copped it hard on the injury front.
We're still far from healthy but it's not so bad. Despite my grievance with some selections for Friday nights game I think we're specials to get a good win.

100% agree with this.

We'd used 28-29 players this season very early on, maybe after about 7-8 weeks which was more than last season as a whole I think somebody said. I wouldn't be surprised if we have already used our 2nd teir cap up as well for the year
