Good news it seems, Channel 7 interviewed Manly players inc. Lyon.

Lyon Grade 2 Medial - 4 weeks
King leg not broken - hopes to be back for finals

Sea Eagles hit with Lyon blow

July 21, 2008 MANLY five-eighth Jamie Lyon is expected to miss four-to-six weeks with a medial ligament strain in his knee while prop Jason King is out indefinitely with an ankle ligament strain.

The injury news has been accepted as a positive report for the high-flying Sea Eagles as King was cleared of a fracture and could be back within a few weeks if he responds well to treatment.

Sea Eagles officials are hopeful both players will return before the finals.

Skipper Matt Orford meanwhile is racing the clock to overcome a groin injury for Sunday's blockbuster top four clash with the Sydney Roosters at the Sydney Football Stadium.

Yes Ox said he will not risk it, sounds as though they are aiming for the Storm game

That's not good news.  He needs football under his belt and will be terribly unfit.  We either don't have him for the season or we pick him on reputation and carry a prop that will blow up after 10-15 minutes of finals football.

We're covered for props but when he comes back give him 15 to 20 then off for twenty or so then back on.  rotations the name of the game for these big guys.

Bani did his shoulder at the weekend and Jack Afamasaga did a leg injury of some sort. Neither has done much of late but we need all hands on deck to cover injuries coming up to the semis. It would be good to allow those with niggles to freshen up in the last week or two of the regular season.

Sea Eagles score King-sized boost but it looks bleak for Lyon
Greg Prichard | July 22, 2008

MANLY coach Des Hasler says he hopes to have prop Jason King back within a few weeks after tests cleared him of a broken ankle that probably would have forced him out for the rest of the season. "He's had X-rays and scans and it's ligament damage," Hasler said yesterday. "It's not broken, which is great news for 'Kingy' and us. He'll probably be out for two or three weeks."

Hasler got the news he was expecting on five-eighth Jamie Lyon, who was confirmed as being out for four to six weeks with medial ligament damage to his knee. King and Lyon were hurt in Friday's win over Parramatta.

Sea Eagles halfback Matt Orford was a late withdrawal from that game with a groin injury and Hasler said it wouldn't be clear until later in the week if he would be fit to play Sydney Roosters at the SFS on Sunday. "But I'm optimistic," he added. Newcastle are set to get a much-needed boost with the anticipated return from injury of stars Danny Buderus and Steve Simpson for the game against South Sydney at EnergyAustralia Stadium on Sunday. Hooker Buderus has been out for three games with a knee injury, while second-rower Simpson has missed two with ankle and hip problems.

Thankfully our final four regular season games are far from testing.  Admittedly we'll be up against sides desperate to win to keep their finals hopes alives but if we wrap up a final two spot we could just about beat some of them with a PL side.

The next two weeks will be hard for us, Roosters will throw everyting at us after two big losses, while the Storm... - thank god we are playing at Brookie.

We should have Souths, Titans, Riff & Tigers covered although some could be playing for Top 8 spots whoch always makes it hard especially if we don't have a lot to play for.

Great news regarding King. His experience and passion will be invaluable to us in the finals.

A prop rotation of Kite/Perry/King/Cuthbertson is the best in the game.
