Interesting idea from the Warriors

final home game for Mannering this week and also his 300th, they ran a promo yesterday where they made a heap of tickets available, and the fans named their price for the tickets based on what they thought it was worth to see his last game, ranging from $5-$50. They are now only 1000 seats away from a sell out

Shows that cheap tickets will always bring the punters in, along with a bit of success

Also an interesting question of what people would currently pay to watch us at Brookie, might be a gold coin donation lol

I'd want more than a gold coin lol

I'm assuming they've been able to do this because of the fact that their home games this season have been extremely well attended and a loss at this game, won't make a huge difference to their bottom line. Because even at regular prices with the team leading into semi finals, it being potentially their last home game and last Mannering's 300, they'd go very close to a sell out.

Fantastic idea though - they seem to do things quite well over there with fan and member engagement.

Great idea by the Warriors. NRL clubs need to do more of this. Crowd numbers are dropping off dramatically and this would be a great way to get people to attend games. Much better to have a sell out rather then one that is less than half full even if the club makes the same amount of money from it.

Can't see crowd numbers improving for Manly, regardless of how they try to get people to go, until the team starts winning and they sort out their off field issues.

This would only work for the last game.

If they did this at the start of the season, who’s going to commit to more money as a season ticket holder?

Some Warriors fans probably have a general admission season seat at ?$20-30 per game and would miss out on the $5 tickets.

I’m sure they wouldn’t care for one game but if they offered it at the start of the year, those general admission season tickets holders would just wait for each game and buy then.

It’s a good idea but probably only for the last game. You can’t rip the loyal fans off who commit their dollars at the start of the year.

The way our club is shaping I can't see any sane supporter paying $35+ to watch Manly play at Brookie in 2019.
The only hope is the away supporters flock to the ground, knowing that an easy win is likely.

Another fantastic initiative by the Warriors - Would certainly expand the amount of reserved season ticket holders if we were able to make it this affordable:

Big news from the @NZWarriors ahead of the 2019 season today. All reserved seat season tickets for next season will be $199. The club will play 10 games at @MtSmartStadium with an 11th home game elsewhere in New Zealand. The 12th home game will be as a #MagicWeekend home team.

Mannering deserves the accolades. He had to be one of the best and most consistent forwards in the comp. Wish Manly had been able to tempt him across the Tasman, but he's too loyal to his home territory

I like the idea they had when they bought a decent 5/8 and made the finals.

Kind of like what we did last year and didn't do this year.

I think our club would be well served giving away a couple thousand tickets every game. Give them to local school kids and let them bring tag alongs for half price or something. It's a numbers fluff up but it's better than what they do at Homebush, i.e. just make up the numbers...
