MANLY RECRUIT VERSATILE WARRIOR

Manly have secured the services of experienced former Warriors forward Jazz Tevaga in a welcomed boost to their pack.

A News Corp report confirmed the 29-year-old has signed with Sea Eagles on a one-year deal for 2025.

It is understood Tevaga met with Manly coach Anthony Seibold this week to nut out his contract as he looks for a fresh opportunity on the northern beaches.

He will provide some punch to a Manly unit already boasting big guns Taniela Paseka, Haumole Olakau’atu and Josh Aloiai, while Sea Eagles enforcer Matt Lodge remains unsigned for 2025.

Tevaga played 138 games for the Warriors after debuting for the club in 2016 and has featured in five Tests for Samoa.

Meanwhile, Sydney utility Michael Chee-Kam is also expected to join Manly next season on a supplementary contract for 2025.

Tevaga will look to fill the void of Sea Eagles firebrand Karl Laton who will join the Cowboys next year.

The Sea Eagles have recently announced the retirements of former Blues and Kangaroos enforcer Aaron Woods and centre Brad Parker.

I like this signing. Sounds like it isn't going to break the bank being a 1 year deal towards the end of his career. Jazz can give away a penalty and has had more than his share of injuries. That said, he brings plenty of aggro and will-to-win. Tough smallish prop, probably playing off the bench. He is a player in the Nathan brown style and won't back down.

I am not sure on this one, he is of similar stature and body type as Jake, Brown and Navale.

His ball handling has been poor for a couple of seasons, this and the give away of cheap penalties can be costly.

Jazz conceded 1 penalty in 19 games this year.

So yes, Jazz can give away A penalty....

Great energy
I reckon he will give 100% and the change will bring out his best
No Superstar, but keep in mind this Moneyball type signing allows extra dollars to make that bigger play and imo, will definitely push for a Top 17 spot in 2025

He really adds energy...smaller more mobile but solid. I like that body shape added amongst our big men.

I'm still hoping T Sips has plenty to give this finals series. I'd even play with the idea of playing TSips over AOA this weekend.

Maybe Seibold sees him as the aggressive backup to Brown as he can be injury prone. When Brown goes down injured, Tevaga comes in. Smart thinking and it's only for a year so I'm prepared to see how it turns out.

He will be interesting, I have never been a fan of him at all with the Warriors, but he is a very passionate player and he does have some attributes that could be handy for our squad. His propensity to an error and a brain explosion has been a huge part of his career and why I’ve never been a fan. He gives absolutely everything he has though, and can really hold the mits up if someone wants to have a go

Combination he had off the bench with Walker in 2023 was a good part of the Warriors success
