It's no surprise to me...you have to understand the culture in this QLD set up. DCE did not fit in and was dropped many moons ago, at the behest of Thurston, Smith and co.

Many have tried to deny it, but it's simply true that he is not popular amongst the senior playing group. Be that as it may, you only have to look at the selection of Glasby in Origin 2 as evidence that the senior playing group are still running things at Maroons HQ...hence the death of DCE's representative career.

Kevin Walters is a puppet and was spluttering around and came across as a weasel. When he went onto mention those hacks Morgan, Munster, Norman and then 'Mbye', as possible grub Thurston replacements with no discussion on Chez just proves yet again the NRL is corrupt. These players are obviously not even half as talented as Chez. And it is an absolutely farce.

The NRL is just a sickening sham. And the QLD boys club is a bunch of biased, moronic scumbags. As far as I am concerned the whole lot of them can go and get stuffed.

Chez is far too good for them anyway.

(The in house politics and bias within all levels of the NRL will kill it. In general businesses' do not succeed when you have morons with huge egos in positions making ridiculous decisions rather than people with common sense and a certain degree of intelligence.)

Too right, I was at the game last night and at times he'd actually move 2 meter's forward to give the semblance that QLD were onside (the rest of the time he just sat back and let them get away with it). Total joke.

DCE may be on the nose with Qld Origin, but if his form for Manly keeps up lets hope the Kangaroos selectors see sense and he's picked in our World Cup squad at the end of the season.

Remember that Meninga admitted earlier this year that they were the ones really to blame for how DCE played in Origin, admitting that they did not use him as they should have. So maybe, just maybe, the Qld blacklisting of Cherry will have no bearing on Kangaroos selection, despite the senior Qld clique all likely to be there provided they are healthy enough.

Mal Meninga may be a lot of things, but one thing he doesn't want is to be an Australian coach known for losing something like a World Cup. I think he'll make sure he has the best squad available regardless of what his fellow FOGS think of certain players. Its not their reputations on the line.

Thurston will be hard to replace, they need a game changer, someone who will take control and get them up when all hope is lost and defeat looks inevitable. He's done it before and he can do it again.
