SEA Eagles coach Trent Barrett has no doubt Api Koroisau is the man to guide his team around the field on Thursday night against the Rabbitohs.

The former South Sydney and Penrith hooker trained on Wednesday in the captain’s run at Brookvale Oval, calling the shots at halfback in the absence of the injured Daly Cherry-Evans.

“Api has spent a fair bit of time there during the pre-season,’’ Barrett said.

“I’ve coached Api in the halves out at Penrith before. It is nothing new to him. He played NSW Cup last week at halfback. He can do a job for us.”

With Manly looking to chalk up their third successive win, Barrett expects the Souths forwards, led by the returning Sam Burgess, to come out fired up after they were belted by the Bulldogs on Good Friday.

“Our focus against them has to be our defence, they have a big pack,’’ he said.
