they have a photo of Manly player on their main page.

Have we got any affiliation with them at the moment or is this a hint of whats to come.

The sign in the background clearly says URM.

URM are currently Gold Sponsors - whihc was what was annoucned at the last awards night - my guess it is another company

I got word from my mate that they came to an agreement after Manly agreed to URM's terms to have Bailey reinstated in the team... :p

They are Gold Wheel but I did hear that they made a major sponsor bid which was rejected. Maybe they came up with extra?? Zorba did say he had been negotiating with a company for a couple of weeks.

You'd think it would be another company, if URM are a local company why would they need national exposure? Of course it could be them but I doubt it really.

Well, with the ownership dust settled and a new major sponsor about to come on board I for one feel a little more relaxed about our future.

As I've stated before I'm not to savvy regarding big business so perhaps someone can enlighten me here, if URM are a multi national company would Australia's dealings be a franchise or part of a conglomerate.

When the sponsorship prospects were up in the air I was feeling a bit squirmish. I'm now feeling URMish, which is much better.

is that from the huge US conglomerate, Johnson and Johnson (colgate) ?? If it is, watch out Tinkler, we will buy you, your Patticake horse stud and your mines out  ;D

Zorba has been?  What's the CEO doing then?  And Zorba?  Really?

Nah, just a Northern beaches family.  I had some business dealings with One of the sons years ago. He was a landscaper at Mona Vale.

URM aren't local. They would be looking for waste disposal business type contracts with all sorts of companies and councils nation wide.

Cheers for clearing that up Spud...I followed the two links below but must have somehow mistaken them for another company.

I realise until contracts are exchanged that talk of sponsorship is pure speculation...would be nice to land a big fish just the same.

I posted that URM had come on as a major sponsor the day after the Awards night last year. I got howled down by a few of you if i remember right

I think it was Zorba who mentioned it on the night but i wasn't sure whether i had heard correctly or had several schooners too many.

Anyway, it's good news.
