Brookvale Manly vs Wests May 79. I was on the eastern sideline when Max Krillich was king hit in a scrum (I think). May have who hit who mixed up, but we had Stephen Knight going blow for blow against Dallas Donnelly. And Magilla Thompson against Bruce Gibbs. Les Boyd (then Wests) was in there somewhere. I couldn't believe two blokes (Knight and Dallas) could stand there and punch each other so hard and still stay standing. At the end when at least Knight and Donnelly were sent off, a really old geezer next to me and my mate stood up and took his hearing aid out and and said to me; "That was the best f..ing fight I've seen in my life!" With that he leant over and spat a huge green gob into the gutter. Great days weren't they?
