I loved all the pictures that most Team's Players took with the Legend Beaver.
We are not alone in our admiration of the Man :)

Awesome to see Steve in the Manly colours just one....more....time. Brilliant.

(hope it's not the last!)

Absolute legend!

The old guys, who would you let play in next year's 9's?

Manly - only one choice Beaver come back next year
Newcastle - M Johns or Harrigan?
West tigers - Benny Elias
Brisbane - Gordon Tallis
St George - Gasnier
Canberra - Mal Meninga
Dogs - Peter Tunks
Sharks - Andrew Johns
Titans - Mat Rogers
Penrith - Greg Alexander
Storm - Marcus Bye
Cowboys - Ian Roberts
Eels - Mick Cronin
Rooster - Fitler again
Warriors - Mathew Ridge
Rabbits - Spud

Anyone else? I am sure we could get some of these old guys to run around again next year.

Ever so humble. We should THANK Beaver instead of the other way around.
It's a long shot but I really hope he plays NRL for one last season.
This way, I could die happy to know he will bring on another generation of fans and break more records. I'll even pay the $1.50 he wants to sign the contract!

Think you've got the Johns's mixed up. I'd like to See Stacey Johns for Warriors.

Tigers....Benji Marshall?

Titans - Preston Campbell or Scott Prince

Broncs - Lockyer?

Raiders - brett Mullins, he would have been unstoppable.

Drags - as much as I hate him, Mundine, he would be fun to watch.

As for Beaver there is only word to me that just sums him up, class. He is a class act on and off the field, a person EVERY rugby league fan can point to and say to their kids, 'mate grow up like him and I'll be b**** proud of you'

Maybe Hindmarsh.

I suppose it just shows how old I am. I still remember him running around. Geez, how time flies as you get old.

Yes, I agree with Hindmarsh. :D

But is it a good idea to have these old guys running around next year with cameo performances?

I think it would be great to see.

Sorry about that. The Alzheimer's is starting to take hold. I can't seem to remember which one is which! :p

I think you're confusing Johns with Jones. Stacey is a Jones.

So are you definitely a Bones not a Bohns?

Maybe Hindmarsh.

Good prediction SER8. It appears that Nathan Hindmarsh is interested in playing in next year's Auckland Nines.

Hindmarsh keen on next year's Nines

Nathan Hindmarsh is keen to follow in the footsteps of fellow NRL greats Brad Fittler and Steve Menzies and make an appearance at the Auckland Nines.

Fittler and Menzies were key drawcards in last weekend's inaugural event and the stunning success of the sold out Eden Park event has fired the imagination of Hindmarsh, who retired at the end of 2012.

Hindmarsh was on the sideline as part of the Parramatta support staff as Fittler returned for the Sydney Roosters after 10 years away in their opening game of the tournament.

Mat Rogers would kill it. Seen him the other day running the dreaded Nth Burleigh hill... looked like he was enjoying it..the bloke next to him looked like he was close to a cardiac arrest.:)
