Understand the sentiment but many of us love our dogs Ryanand most dogs are waaaaaay better than plenty of humans. And if we do have to put our dogs to sleep, which is usually the case in the end, it's absolutely gut wrenching.

Very well said @Budgie , and spot on ! I mean, I did suggest we use a Judas Cradle on our recruitment team as a joke, but that could possibly be appropriate in these instances ? Slow and painful.
