Interesting that he will remain in Sydney...  I say we have made some more room in the cap

One interview, one job offer, too easy.  We'll be season ticket holders for the Qld Cup Premiers next year perhaps.

So, who wrote the article? Andrew or Justin Veivers? Or, is Andrew ghost writing for him now?

Players Player Back in 2010

In a massive boost for the 2009 QCup premiers, the Caloundra RSL Sunshine Coast Sea Eagles, player of the year Phil Morwood has agreed to terms for the 2010 season.

Morwood was the runaway winner of the Norm Provan medal and was a priority on the Sea Eagles wish list for the clubs tilt at back to back titles.

“It’s great news for the Sea Eagles. Phil has been a real rock for us this year. He was the guy that held it all together on and off the field and help guide a lot of the younger players at the club,” Sea Eagles CEO Justin Veivers said.

“Phil will continue to live and train in Sydney but he will be contracted directly to us. This will mean he can travel with the Manly players each week. It became a really important role this season and helped keep things on track.

“More importantly was what he brought on the field and he was just tremendous week in week out. A big, hard man and someone you build your side around. He expected the best from his teammates and got it.”

Morwood who missed only one game in the 2009 season and has NRL experience is excited to be returning in 2010. The Toowoomba product has a lot of family and friends in the region and he will be a welcome sight at Stockland Park next year.

Morwood joins Jon Muir and Rob Godfrey as re-signed players. Veivers said talks are still underway with Shane Neumann, Mark page, Michael Chapman and Ryan Walker.

“We are looking very good across the board. I am certain we will have more depth next year. We’ve lost Jon Grieve, but we are still strong in the back row. Shane is moving back to Brisbane and we’d love to have him, Pagey, Chapman and Walker with us.

“We also hope to be able to announce our FOGS A grade coach in a couple of days.”

Regards,

Justin Veivers
