<p>KICK-OFF time can’t come quick enough for the Sea Eagles in the season opener on Saturday night against a new-look Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium.
The media-kicking the club has received in the past week will finally end and, on behalf of the team, I can promise one hell of a defence of the title we won at the same ground 19 weeks ago. </p><p>As team captain I am calling on all our loyal fans to stick with us. We are proud to represent the northern beaches and can’t forget the wonderful reception and euphoria which surrounded our win last October. Essentially we are the same group and because of the current circumstances there are things we want to say, but we simply can’t. </p>

Dramas like we have experienced the last week can either destroy a club and its morale, or can tighten the bond. Reading this from Orford makes me think that this has galvanised the squad and they will be more than ready tomorrow night. How ironic would it be if the very act that Gallop carried out to punish and disadvantage us, is in fact the catalyst to rid us of any hint of complacency and hones our commitment to a knife edge. I hope we tear the Bulldogs a new one, and I believe that the muppet Gallop will be there to witness it.
