Lots of people have said our NSW cup side this year has shown more heart. Well we're second last. Let's get a win this week and start a trend for the NRL too.

Improved from last year at least haha! They only lost to the first placed Mounties by two and didn't lose by a lot to third placed Penrith either!

Having a player like Gutho missing for them is a huge loss, and a forward like Jake Trbojevic out of their team and into first grade (where I hope he will stay!) is a massive loss too, even though he didn't play most of last season.

Poor Holden Cup are a bit restless too with some of their players being called up to NSW Cup because the NSW Cup players are being called up to first grade because of the injuries; it's a never ending domino effect!

Nevertheless, hopefully the Holden Cup boys can possibly regain first place on Saturday night & the NSW Cup boys can put in another great performance on Friday night. But of course most of all lets just hope we can finally get that first grade win!!

Go Manly :) xx

NSW Cup have played some really good footy in the opening 40mins over the last few weeks, but what keeps letting them down is the mentality shift, in particular our halves, to try and protect their lead! The mentality shift is as obvious as a slap in the face!! No team can protect a lead for an entire 2nd half! Playing it safe causes JLJ to hog the ball out of the play the ball and cos he can only play on one side, the attack is constantly only played down the right side, making their attack pretty predictable!! And then add in Hodges the ball hog, the attack becomes very unorganised with no plan of attack!
There's no doubt that when the halves shift the ball around from left to right or right to left they do score plenty of points and can compete with the top of the table teams!
But the boys must keep attacking! The halves taking charge and planning their attack! They must keep putting points on the board and bury the opposition or they'll continue to get run down on the scoreboard every week like they have been of late!
Hodges is great at pinching metres and/or pinching tries but he needs to learn to pick his moments of when and when not to dart out of dummy half!
These boys can win on Fri night! Go hard boys!!

At least Willo has been consistent in his efforts over the past few years.
I appreciate your sarcasm, but how can Penn claim Tooves will be judged on performances when Willo is still there? And save the goat references - that was funny a few years back.
There must be a reason, either they are paying him peanuts, the club doesn't care about NSW Cup results, he is a good coach and the players are letting him down, or he does a great deal for the club that we don;t know about.

I'd say possibly a), definitely b), possibly d).

He does have other functions in the organisation and yes I think he is worth hanging on to. Willo was an underrated player in his day (obviously still is going by some of the stuff being directed his way in recent times), who went about his business with little fanfare but to great effect.

MCK scored first. Missed our second but half time Manly 12-6:)

Wolfie is not out there - hope to see him score a hatrick tonight :inlove:

God ANZ is a hole compared to Brookie - the Players are miles away

Can anyone find a score update for our under 20's game today which is being played at belmore sports ground

They are playing with a breath of fresh air this year and will go further than our 1st grade squad this year into the season

In game 20's updates are very hard to find this season. Even the mwse site is not showing twitter feeds today and the NRL site only shows the final score. .

Yep 30-30

Well done to our boys who are now second on the table!'

If Tom t plays 1st grade when he comes back from his injury he will kill in in the u/20's in the finals series

It will be interesting how the boys go against these stronger sides in Broncos, Cowboys, Warriors, Knights, West Tigers and Roosters ( who did beat them in trials ) As these are the teams the boys have not played against yet

That is very true but promising signs none the less they are showing a lot of promise as a collective unit.
