Wow, this video ref is blatantly biased towards England.
Fair enough to call a penalty for leading with the knees, but a penalty try was a disgusting call. Fullback's knees had little to nothing to do with keeping the ball off the ground, that was all Johnson. Unbelievable decision

Completely disagree. Johnson had the ball held up and covered. The fullback's knees had zero to do with the ball grounding. ZERO

Sorry, can't agree. If that was awarded against Manly in a game we would all be blowing our tops... and rightfully, so IMO. I absolutely agree with a penalty, but a penalty try was really stretching it.
I have replayed it again a couple of times and I 'think' I can see him put the ball down against the defender's leg but that was very late in the play.
But yes, if it was Manly......😱
