Just been watching the good old 80’s and 90’s games with the Eels magic backline and Dogs rugged forward pack....how that Tigers side did not win a comp is beyond me, but I like it.
The score were 12-8 or 22- 6 and earlier more 10-3 or 15 - 7....but the rugged contact is massive and the tackles were hit and stick, none of this wrestling/dancing crap.
Also early shifts out wide...switches of play and the support play better than today imo.
There was not s safety first mentallity dominated by statistics, more natural talent that was a surprise for the supporters.
Gotta say...will always love my footy, but the old school games are hard to beat...
