I've just booked flights for 3 of us to Brissie for round 9 and 5 of us for the Gold Coast for round 11

Some good deals still to be had and I got $62 one way flights to Bris Vegas and $72 to the GC (prices include all taxes and credit card fees)

As we don't know the exact date of the games I've only booked the out bound leg (leaving on the Friday morning for both games) and will worry about accomodation and return travel when the game days are finalised.

The NRL tell me that details will be be released after week 2 for the Broncos game - so released around the last week of March - and week 3 for the Titans - so around end March/early April)

We are planning on going to Townsville but not doing the weekend so will look at a quick out and back with just one overnight stay when we know the date/time

Many reading this will have been to these games before so know the craic but for those that haven't travelled to QLD for the games before it is a brilliant weekend with functions typically organised and a good contingent of Manly fans there so well worth the trip.

Keep an eye out for Mark from Brisbane's tour details as he is a great guy and it's well worth the time and money to get to these trips

Not long now boys and girls!!!!

Go Manly!!!!

Hey Vidmar,

Where do you usually stay when on the Gold Coast?
Also, Robina tavern is the meeting point i presume for that game?

do anyone know if any Manly fans that have gone or are going to the UK are going to post us some news and pics

Hey BE,

I know a Manly supporter who went to the UK to watch the WCC match not sure if he has taken a laptop with him ? ill send him a message and ask him if he took a camera.

Zep,

Snoweagle and I are crashing at your house when we come to the Gold Coast....cool?
haha just kidding but we expect to catch up for a beer.

We will be at both games, possibly bringing a few randoms with us too

Hey guys,
Zep - re Gold Coast: We stay at the Crowne Plaza (as do the team and that's where the function was last year)

We got well organised last year re the pre/post match planning and yes the thoughts at the moment are to meet at the Robina tavern again before the game.

They have a free shuttle bus to Skilled but we figured that there may be a fair few at the pub with the numbers of Manly who said they would be there plus the local Titans fans so we (Mark from Bris and I) liaised with the club and got them to arrange a seperate bus that we all chipped in for so we were sure that we could get to the ground in time for the game rather than taking a chance on getting on the free shuttle.
(Turned out to be a great idea as some struggled to get on the shuttle in time for KO)

The Robina Tavern was great and packed with Manly and we had a great time catching up with everyone and putting faces to names on quite a few posters from here and MWSE.

I travel with the kids and it was a kid friendly venue with an outdoor fenced play area (They even had cute young ladies who looked after the kids and did face painting and craft with them.)

I didn't eat there but many did and apparently the food was good and reasonably priced.

We got the same coach back from the ground to the Crowne Plaza for the function that players past and present attended and kicked back with the supporters and we had a great night sipping a few cold ones with the team and officials.

Brissie: The plan appears to be to meet at the LA Hotel on Caxton Road again which is just a short stroll to Suncorp (Caxton Road was chockers with Manly last season prompting my little girl to comment "The Broncos don't get many of their supporters at their game do they Daddy?" - Classic!)

Post game it's usually the beer garden at the Caxton to give it the locals (When we win of course!)

To the tune of "Blue Moon" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-ALDh-TlQc)

"Queensland........
We always win in Queensland
We always win in Queensland
We always win in Queensland......."

And....
"Wayne Bennett said to our Dessie
Did you know what the score would be?
No, said Des with a great big win
But I knew that Manly would win
Da na na na na na na na etc."

Happy days....

Vidmar - the crown plaza is really nice! make sure you get up to the revolving resturant if you havn't been. Not really worth it for the view but a pretty darn good meal.

For all those who are coming up, also see what you can get with regards to a Stay and Show package from the casino. It is litually about a 100 metres walk to Crown Plaza (maybe more).

I would still pick Crown Plaza though :p

Yep, had a recovery brecky in the revolving restaurant...love the buffet breakfast "All you can eat" challenge.

Funny story, we had Mouse with us (Who some of you will know) had his cereal and then must have gone back to the buffet about a doozen times but we didn't see him eating anything.

Turned out he was filling his enviro Manly bag with all manner of goodies from the buffet to snack on during the trip home...fair dinkum he must have pilfered about 5 kilo of sausage and bacon plus rolls, crosissants, yoghurt and fruit!

There was a taxi strike on so we ended up doing a deal with the hotel sharing a white stretch limo with the four of us plus 3 of the girls that we knew who were heading back to the airport (only cost us about $10 a head!).

The looks on people's faces as this thing pulled up and we all piled out in out Manly colours was priceless....Silvertails? (you bet!!!!)

Vidmar - that is one thing that is cheap on the gold coast, limos. You just go up to any and ask for them to do a deal. Actually more and more have been having the Taxi meters installed. Many a nights i have got home from Surfers or the Casino for 50$ for the 5-8 of us. BTW i live about 20mins away from both place and a Taxi costs approx 40$.
