what happened to them?? Andrew Johns predicted them at the start of the season to be in the top 4 AND win the premiership. They looked promising but they remind me of the Warriors, lots of hype but always disappointing. The way Manly is going, we could beat them 20+ at the moment.

2015 all over again for them. Over-achieved in 2014, bombed the following year, over-achieved 2016 bomb this year (maybe). I still think their forwards aren't a top 4 pack.

To judge them on the performance against Melbourne is misleading. The 'Riff would probably have scored 4-5 tries against most other teams, but the Storm defence was incredible. Then when the Storm had the ball they were clinical, and the 'Riff is a team which attacks well but dodgy in defence - much like the Tigers.
I'm not writing the 'Riff off just yet. The Storm is the team to beat. Hopefully they will not be able to maintain their intensity for too much longer.

Steve Urkel...... love the name.
Blast from the past !!!
Sucko to the panfers.
They get all the early season hype from their usual fan club, the insipid brandy and the like.
We'll just creep through the jungle undetected and before they know it well be on em !!
They always have plenty of nuffies talking themselves up.
And someone needs to take brandy shopping to buy some shirts that aren't 3 sizes too big.
The children's section would be a good start.

The Melbourne-Penrith match was a poster game for the theory that defence wins premierships.
All that running around and Penrith made 1 line break.
The Penrith team look incredibly fit and have a lot of youthful energy, but their structure is quite poor so they are easy to defend by a structured team like Melbourne.
I think Manly are building a team with a Melbourne like structure. This was on full display against the Roosters. They were incredibly tight, and the role of probably 10 of the 13 players on the field was to structure openings for Cherry, Walker Or Tom T to exploit at key moments.
If done as well as Melbourne, we beat scatterbrain teams like Penrith most times. I think that is what Manly are building towards.

Exactly, they will win more than they will lose.

The Drizzle on the other hand..........

Dropped 2 OVER the line and Addo Carr scored a freak 100m try against run of play....only just off the pace to Melbourne in Melbourne...no embarrassment there....
Will be top 4 - no doubt imo

No way in hell I'm taking Brandy anywhere near the children's section:lipssealed::giggle:

How many times did Dean's Wharehouse throw a poor pass and how often did the Puppypoo Brown Machine's backline not pass it out to the wings, where they might have scored? Instead preferring to go back infield?

Yes although their attack was shocking, just because they throw the ball around heaps, flick pass, no look pass, run 2000000m laterally and kick backwards whilst flipping anticlockwise about the origin does not mean they are a good attacking team. I think they need much much more composure and need to get rid of these stupid plays that make them look like a good attacking side. If they calm it down, build pressure and use their attacking spasms right they will be a much stronger side
