That's one problem with Sydney folks, and the large stadiums. You aren't forced to act quickly for tickets, which i believe affects numbers. Everyone knows you'll just be able to rock up on the night, so you get the kind of people who say, "I'll just rock up and get my tickets there, less fuss", then when the night comes.. if there's a bit of wind or rain, or traffic, or they're feeling lazy, kid has the sniffles etc.. they just say, hmm it's on tv, i'll just stay home. Whereas if they already purchased a ticket, they wouldn't want to waste it. It's not the majority obviously, but i reckon across the board there'd be a good few thousand like that. It's in everyone's interest to pre-sell so they can plan in advance but the NRL doesn't seem to put much emphasis on it, or incentive to do so, aside from the die hards (which there just isn't enough of to fill this big stadium) who want specific sections etc.
