The 2018 Queensland Pacific Island Cultural Carnival will be held this weekend at Bill Norris Oval – Beenleigh Multi Sports Complex. Rugby league fans are invited to come along and experience Queensland’s largest multicultural rugby league event.
The carnival celebrates the cultural heritage of Queensland based Pacific Island people, and all games will be played in a respectful manner.
The following countries will be represented at the 2018 QPICC tournament:
- Tonga
- Cook Islands
- Maori
- PNG
- Samoa
- Niue
- Philippines
The participating age divisions are:
- Open Men
- Open Women
- Under 18
- Under 16
- Under 14
- Exhibition Matches – Girls Under 14 + Under 16
This event will also highlight the food and culture of the participating nations with Pasifika food, stalls, performances and more. The carnival is a drug and alcohol free family event, and rugby league fans of all ages are welcome to attend.
The opening ceremony for the carnival will commence on Friday evening at 6pm (October 26), with games taking place throughout the duration of the weekend. The QPICC finals will begin on Sunday morning (October 28).
Entry Fee:
- Gold coin donation for children aged 14 years and under
- $5 for attendees over the age of 14
