The players are extremely frustrated and angry that the application of the rules have been applied in this situation but were not applied on previous occasions

In the past they've shown that basically they can't do anything.

But if the players actually are outraged by this, then perhaps this could be the issue which gives power back to the players.

A common point that Gallop made in both the NRL press release and his media interview was that the NRL board was angry with Brett Stewart considering he was entrusted with such an honoured poition in the game immediately prior this incident.

Noone is fooled by the pretence of suspending him on the issue of drinking.

The NRL did act out of anger on this issue and as I have said elsewhere it may very well come back to bite them.

I saw the new NRL ad tonight and if they paid $1.5m for that then they are the biggest fools of all.

The music is crap and the ad is crap.  It is just a few shots of players from last season. How original.  An uninspiring load of garbage.  The NRL executive need to go now as it is time for new blood.
