Is Mestrov really our Messiah?

Massive investment
Rapid restructuring
Big calls

You need to take some deep breaths ... we replaced an underachieving coach.

Something 3/4 clubs do every year.

Where is this massive investment you speak of?
Rapid restructuring= changing the whole football department.
Massive investment= the cost of punting Des and others. The cost of the new coaching team that would not have come cheap! On top of the payouts
Big Calls= the decision to appoint Seibs. Big and risky call imo considering he is known to talk the big talk up stream but not articulate so well down stream. The choice of the new coach had to be the right one and a decision he can not afford to get wrong. Btw I think the CEO from the bulldogs that appointed TBAZ got punted after they worked out Tbaz was a dud as a coach.

This is all a moot point as nobody in a position of power or with any common sense would be looking to sack a CEO after 6 months or a coach after 10 games.

The kind of instability that line of thinking would create is the exact inverse of what creates a succesful club.

I titled the thread for dramatic effect like many others like the sack Seibs one which started much earlier. Gee with a little bait you people bite like crocs.
My actual initial comment was as follows:
“With all the changes and drama that has occurred we have absolutely nothing so far this season to show for it.
At this stage I rate him a complete fail”

I happily stand by this comment but would be extremely happy to retract from it if things improve but if the coaching staff fail after all the changes… Mestrov imo needs to take accountability.

We agree that everybody is accountable, and should be judged on their decisions ... what we disagree on ... is 11 weeks into a 3 year appointment a reasonable time to be storming the parapets?

Is the appointment of a coach the only decision that a CEO should be judged on ?..

Should all 9 CEO's of the clubs that don't make the 8 this year also get the sack ?

Mestrov's tenure has been amazing. He's addressed and actioned what appears to be every area of concern that needed attention in my view.

Our coaching staff in my view have given our players all the tools they need. They have a great, experienced and knowledgeable coaching team .

The recruitment and players on the other hand. We have 13 positions that need filling, and we don't even have a specialist Hooker and/or Lock right now.

Us fans have favourites, so they can take their picks: Toovey, Barrett, Hasler, Siebold, Cartwright, Flannagan, Randall, Monaghan, Hayles. Not one of these men have been able to get our playing group to play consistently or at a first grade level.

There needs to be a rebuild of this roster. There needs to be a complete overhaul in recruitment / retention. I mean, Woods, Johns, Talau, Condon, Tuilagi, Roache, Matterson, Bullemor & others ? Come ON now.

I wouldn't be splashing big numbers to keep this roster together (i.e. Koula, Olakau'atu) - they haven't won't diddly squat. Peel it all back and start again. Bennett showed you could do that with lesser talent, but much more character players - and that's what we lack - heart, determination and character.

This team is unwatchable. I saw an article about it today, we are an insipid product, and honestly, not half entertaining.

Yeah he needs time to weed the snakes out... get rid of the cause of division... will need more than one season. Also balancing our cap with the massive contracts we have can't be easy until one or two expire. Not many are coming up

This thread even got Ryan to post! I remember reading at some point Ryan was not even a fan of Mestrov when he started with us 😀

Can't deny all the changes he's overseen. Calling for Mestrov's head right now is ridiculous.

People's ire needs to be focused in the right direction. A group of unmotivatable lumps, who are precious about anything, without ticker, who have had that many recent coaches attempting (all different shapes, types and sizes) to improve / fix them, but literally can't.

Our roster is an abomination. We have 3-4 first graders in my opinion.

Sorry mate .. but that is just a load of exaggerated balderdash ... I was going to say panicked bullshiite ... but thought I would be polite .

I know this is a sack mestrov thread however given seibold came in late we need to give him some time to build the team he wants. Probs the first 6-8 weeks of next season.

Firstly feathered friend Ryan
I hope you have been well and its good to have you on board again .

The @Ryan Amazing Mestrov /Seibold tenure Perspective .....
We are heading towards half way of the season and we are still awaiting for these Amazing Results in a Results Driven Business

The fact is When Mestrov took over he confirmed that we had a very competitive finals player roster

Another Fact is Adversity , sets backs and player injuries are part of the game
Club Resolute IS part of the Great and inspirational leadership in our club

At the end of the year Mestrov /Seibold tenure will achieve one of these three categories
1. Meet Expectations
2. Overachieve
3. Underachieve and fail

The moral of the story
RESULTS IN A RESULTS DRIVEN BUSINESS
MATTER TO OUR CREDIBILTY

Mate you can say all you like! We are just exchanging opinions in a footy forum which for me affords the luxury to be a little loose with my views/ passions etc. but I do honestly think it’s fair to hold Mestrov to account for coaching decisions. No bull dust or exaggeration there.
It would be a bloody boring forum if we all were reflective and considered like in a formal sense when sharing such opinions. If you want to hold people to such a high account you will certainly get the opportunity to pass on judgement to others if that is what tickles your fancy. Btw I have a quiet day at work thus the posting. 😀 over and out BM72….

Happy to see you posting mate.. even if you completely disagree with me

this is a well put together post and is also spot on

No Bull dust here feathered friend . You are 100% correct !

The fact is Mestrovs decision making is part of the Results Driven Business Benchmark of our clubs success including his decision to appoint the right coach to overachieve and achieve the right results

You are what we used to call a white ant .. 10 weeks into the season and already in the background trying to create disharmony and talking about sacking people ...

You continually justify yourself with generalizations about accountability ... whilst completely ignoring the relevant fact ... that only a white ant would be trying to create a public ****tefight 10 weeks in .

@BOZO , take your pick:

1. Des Hasler (Manly DNA, premiership winner, veteran)
2. John Cartwright (Experienced assistant / head coach - premiership winner)
3. Geoff Toovey (Manly DNA, all heart and a "give your absolute all" coach)
4. Steven Hales (wonder kid with juniors)
5. Chad Randall (Manly DNA, now picked up by Cameron Ciraldo)
6. Michael Monaghan (Manly DNA)
7. Trent Barrett (Assistant coach and head coach at multiple clubs - newer ideas)
8. Shane Flannagan (premiership winner, always in line for most leading jobs)
9. Jim Dymock (experienced assistant coach with successful clubs)
10. Anthony Siebold (Manly DNA, a little success elsewhere, in various codes)

etc etc etc in recent times.

You have all types, with various backgrounds, experiences and insights. Who in your infinite wisdom does Mestrov bring in that would trump any and/or all of these? If any and all of these couldn't get our cattle playing consistent footy, who in your view does Mestrov just conjure up to make this magical event happen?

It's the under performing / skilled / class players Bozo.

Mestrov is doing well enough.

Seibs is doing enough, just. He needs to get this group together, if that's possible at all....which I doubt.

As someone else said, half the team is just playing here as a job. Seems pretty obvious watching games, who is and who isn't fully invested.

Penn, on the other hand, needs to start operating a little bit differently.
Whatever his first instinct is regarding decisions around the Club, stop, and do the complete opposite.

So be it. But not sure how one can create disharmony by merely sharing an opinion unless people are willing or looking to be easily triggered in the first the place? Opinions should not really affect anyone unless it is an attempt to control somehow. Btw I have no motives to control others . I am also happy to sit in the background but really not entirely sure what you are trying to say here? Apologies btw as I have no intention to provoke grumpy old Scotsmen. ( that’s a joke btw 😂 ) PS your famous tin foil hat should trump anything a forum newbie says 😜.
