Should we go for Bird?

There's a lot of talk about signing this guy. From reports it could be a reality. The more rep players the better I think but I'm a big fan of cultivating players and bring them through a system that rewards good performance and loyalty. That's easy enough said but in reality it isn't easy. Does anyone really want this guy playing for us? In all honestly I don't know if I'd be happy or not. What do u guys think?

His aggression & hard running up the middle is exactly what this club needs .
He is a class 1 ,world renowned nob-head ,but I would take him for the wins & hard-nosed
playing style that might rub off on our current plodders.

Yes we need some hard yards around the ruck especially between the 2 30-40 metre lines!! I think Myles can help but s$&t... If Bird was there that would help , would it not????. If it hurts the salary cap too much then fu$k it, but short term could be very, very good.

Trbojevic, Lussick, Myles, Buhrer, Lawrence, Symonds, Bird, Mateo, Burgess is a solid engine room.

5 of those would be a change from what we see now.

I see that as a positive.

Take bird out of those 5 and I still see it as a positive. What $ would bird command? $300,000+ maybe??? Spend it on younger players maybe?

Yes yes yes to bird.
Imagine a pack with Bird, Myles, a hard hitting Jake T, psycho Lussick, Buhrer and his footwork, Ballin the tackling machine, and Lawrence, Lui and JSL providing support from the bench. Solid pack!
However the only thing that worries me is Bird's judiciary record and the good chance of not getting value out of him.

Bird would be worth $500k minimum....... and worth every cent
Provided he doesnt get caught buying white lightening or doing lifting tackles. We need him on the pitch. If he stays on the field i could handle paying 400K for him. He may not be an 'origin player' anymore now so perhaps his price tag will drop slightly..

I reckon we should. I'll get the shotgun...

He is a dick head but he is tough . He is on his way I hear that's great if it doesn't effect our cap to much.

That he may be my friend but he is still tough and better then what we have at present. Apart from jake t our forwards are skirts.

Tuff he is but do we need another party hard bad boy in our camp. One big night out and we could have half the squad in the clink.

Would we have the money for him? After Myles, Lussick and the upgrade of DCE, I'm not sure we would. The need for a specialist half also has to come into the frame as well. What do we need more someone to partner Daly or Bird?
As stated many times, without go forward, no platform, nothing for the halves to work off.

Yes just what we need a 31 year old by the time he arrives. We are old and slow at the moment and need an injection of young players not old band aid solutions.
