Since breaking our duck, the Mighty Sea Eagles have a great record - a premiership on average every 5 years. 8 wins plus a stack of other grand finals in that time is fantastic success in a tough comp.

Add that we have never won a spoon over our total years and it is awesome being a Manly fan. The only club to come close in that time are Brisbane. The Raiders, Dogs, Chooks and Rorters all had a few great years but none have come close the consistency of Manly over four decades.

(Take the Northern Beagles debacle out and it is even more impressive.)

No wonder they dislike us!!!

If you take out the Northern Eagles years its every 4.625 years :p

You can also throw in:

- The only team to win a premiership in each of the past 5 decades.
- The team with the biggest winning Grand Final Margin in history. 40-0
- one of only two teams (bulldogs the other) to have won premierships at each of the SCG, the SFS and ANZ Stadium.
- winners of the premiership In Rugby Leagues Centenary year.
- winners of the last Grand Final ever played at the SCG.

But the greatest achievement of all by this great club would have to be the killing off of the North Sydney Bears :)

I hope this doesn't get overlooked. Personally I thought it was a pretty big deal and it's just so much sweeter that the premiership win was 'perfect' in every sense.

Remarkable average since 1972. Makes you wonder why it took so long to break out duck originally although making our first grand final after only 5 years of existence was special in its own right.

Our greatest Non-Trophy'd Achievement without a doubt.

Lets keep going:

- Won the most World Sevens titles - 3 (1990 / 1994 / 1995)
- The highest winning margin in a World Sevens grand final 44-12 against St George in 1994
- Winning 5 sudden death games in 17 days to win the 1978 premiership
- The only team to win back to back KB Cups (1982 / 1983)
- Only team to appear in a grand final every decade of the past 7.

I prefer to say we won 20% of the premierships over the past 40 years.

20% is impressive.
What about for Olympic years (like this one)?

We have won 40% of the Olympic years since 1972.
When we take out this year it will improve to 45%
Only Manly bulldogs broncos have won in an olympic year since 1972

Never forget.

No,we just pulled the plug on life support

Exactly right. The Bears NRL team was already insolvent and near death without an NRL licence for the following year when we threw them a lifeline but then their faction leader Mark Canon of the JV management tried to kill us off during the merge and take our licence so we cut the line to put them right back in the position that they were in before we tried to help them.

Norths had no intentions of making the JV work for the long term as the Manly faction had a news paper clipping quoting Bears representative Mark Cannon saying the Bears would be playing out of NorthPower Stadium as a stand-alone club by the time the club's six year NRL licence expired.

Scum club with scum fans, that said I'd let them back in so we get a free 2-4 points a season, still no fan should ever live longer than their club
