Without those straight edge runners you limit the ability to induce errors in the defensive line which opens up other options on ball spreads(decoy runners will not be taken seriously and the defensive line will peal off early)---this is why Melb focus and push themselves to play straight in all elements of attack and value players who run "tough lines and decoys" for the good of the team.

Having such hard damaging straight running backrowers on either side is a key ingredient to establishing potent attack with composed execution based on good fundamentals.

Melb always talk about "good fundamentals" and this comes under that banner.

They are both absolutely killing it. Siro has definitely been one of our most instrumental players over the past 3 seasons.

It feels like the 3 year gel bonding is upon us , finally.

I think both of them are tough, no-nonsense, professionals who never stop working. When to put them with Jurbo you have the best defensive unit in the comp.
