Solid ideas, but I think they might be more something for that bloke pretending to be an announcer to play through the speakers.

When I think about drunk guys on the hill (+ Kel) trying to sing the tune of combat...well I just can't/don't want to see it happening.

I remember watching Combat when I was a kid but I don't really remember much about the show. I still do remember Vic Morrow all dressed up in his combat gear going out on patrol with his platoon and that's about it

Vic Morrow the actor was killed during the making of "The Twilight Zone" movie in 1982 when a stunt went wrong and he and one of the two kids he was holding were decapitated by a helicopter blade when the chopper accidentally crashed during filming and also landed on the second kid killing it too. http://www.findadeath.com/Deceased/m/Vic%20Morrow/vic_morrow.htm
