From the 'NRL Casualty Ward - All the Latest Injury News' web page, Here is the Latest NRL Injured or Unavailable Update:

* * * (Updated: Wednesday, 25 May 2022) * * *

Superstar fullback Tom Trbojevic will undergo shoulder surgery and miss the remainder of the season in a massive blow to the Sea Eagles, Blues and Kangaroos.

Manly coach Des Hasler said that scans on the shoulder Trbojevic dislocated in last weekend's 22-20 loss to Parramatta injury confirmed the club's worst fears and he would require season ending surgery.

"He will have the operation. He won't play again this year," Hasler said after the team's captain's run on Wednesday ahead of Thursday night's trip to Melbourne.

The diagnosis rules Trbojevic out of the upcoming Origin series and the end-of-season World Cup in England.

"He would be an integral part of any footy team, not just the Manly Sea Eagles but the NSW Blues, which is just around the corner," Hasler said.

"At the same time we realise it is part and parcel of what we do. Tom is so focused and obviously he is extremely disappointed but we know that he will make a great comeback."

Manly Sea Eagles
  • Jason Saab (Toe, Round 12-13)
  • Martin Taupau (Quad, Round 13)
  • Karl Lawton (Suspension, Round 13)

  • Ben Trbojevic (Shoulder, Indefinite)
  • Taniela Paseka (Knee, Indefinite)

However, from the NRL Casualty Ward, Manly hub page, there are slight variations to the information regarding the unavailable or injured players and their return periods:

  • Karl Lawton (Suspension, Round 13)
  • Jason Saab (Toe, Round 13)

  • Tom Trbojevic (Shoulder, Next Season)
  • Morgan Boyle (Ankle, Indefinite)

I hope we throw the kitchen sink at Hughes tonight, and see how match fit he really is.

Wouldn't do our chances of stifling the Storm attack any harm either.

Shut down Hughes, Munster & Smith, work hard, and we're a chance.

This game is tailor-made for a big statement by our players and a win will put our entire season in a different light.

Will Weekes and/or the other Tui be snuck in at the last minute? How great would that be!
Or if not we can get the job done with unfashiponables such as Jorge and DeLuis. No doubt Sipley will play his usual 15 minutes (!) so Barney Rubble will be a key man.

And as we all know, the 50/50 calls will even themselves out - obviously! - so no reason we won't be in this match up to our eyeballs.

Go Manly!

Hope Foz's 250th is a happy as well as memorable one.
Yes indeed. Kieran Foran is a genuine Manly warrior even though his career hasn't played out in the fairytale fashion.

Tonight is exactly the kind of scenario where Foz's best qualities will be most needed (ie, a backs-to-the-wall rugby league game against a formidable and strongly favoured foe).

Living in Melbourne, but bummed that I can't get to the game tonight. I have attended a number of these fixtures in recent years, and we have managed to nick a few close wins
I am not optimistic by any sense, but so long as we don't disgrace oursleves, I will be happy.
It won't be overly wet or cold tonight, but there has bene a fair bit of dew these last couple of weeks..... so i expect a little bit of a slick surface

Storm and Dragons are now the teams I’d want to see us beat the most this season. Broncos too if it is somehow possible for us to match up against them in the finals.

Expecting a loss tonight but would be elated with a win.

I'm still waiting for the 15% Manly, 85% everyone else we play, calls to even up. Let me know when the nrl/ref/bunker clown agenda against us has been dissolved.
