One thing I am struggling to figure out from last night's game.

We lost Simpkin to a Cat 1 HIA caused by an illegal elbow to his head from Nelson. So why weren't we weren't allowed to activate the 18th player??

We lost a player to a HIA directly caused by foul play. Isn't that supposed to be an automatic activation of the 18th player??
We didn’t need to activate the 18th player - I don’t think we even used our whole 17 as I didn’t see Tommy Talau take the field.

Might have been mentioned but I just noticed in a replay a gloating Munster shove Turbo after Coates last try - what scum they are

Storm forward Nelson Asofa-Solomona has accepted a two-game ban for a stray elbow to the head of Manly's Jake Simpkin at AAMI Park on Saturday night.

The incident in the 37th minute of the clash resulted in Asofa-Solomona being placed on report and Simpkin leaving the field for a HIA which he failed.

Asofa-Solomona was charged with Grade 2 Dangerous Contact and as it was his second offence he will be suspended for two matches after entering an early guilty plea. Had the Kiwis prop fought the charge and lost he would have miss three games.

"Stray" - what a load of b/s. Makes it sound accidental.

That's insulting! Never seen more intent!

I really struggle to understand the love affair with this guy. Always paraded as the lovable larikan type. But he’s always whinging and complaining on the field throwing his arms up in the air protesting. Also always lashing out in tackles. Seriously can’t stand him and just seems like a tool. Product of his environment (storm) I guess.

And queensland, for their logs(much to big to be chips) on both shoulders

Yep the footy commentators love this 'loveable larrikin' style of young man. Cheese is another. Thurston back in the day (who admittedly in recent years seems to have grown up a fair bit)
despite stuff like this... hehe just boys being boys.

Agreed about Tommy Talau, he bench warmed all 80 minutes.

But my other argument is how is it not foul play when the bunker intervenes and denies the Storm a try because of, foul play with the elbow to the head.

They already called it foul play by disallowing the Grant try and giving a penalty. For mine then to not be able to activate the 18th player because there was no action (send off or bin) is completely contradictory.

Nelson literally got penalised for foul play. That was the reason for the no try.
