Seems that way...maybe the players were smaller.

Watching players run around in circles looking disorganised and throwing that brown footy around...those were the days

There are some clips on youtube i think, something that stands out is Dessie feeding a scrum and when the ball comes out he'll pick it up, pass and dive all in the one motion.  Hilarious stuff nowadays that you don't see anymore.

There was a small section on the Footy Show last night (yeah i had it on...) where they asked old players what they'd like to see brought back.  More good memories too:

Playing surfaces are so that you won't get those mud games where you won't recognise who's on which team

Bringing back sand instead of the kicking tee...love it!
