Lui and Taumalolo slide very slowly in defence especially to their right hand side so the space around them can be targeted especially with short inside passes. Ashton Sims is also vulnerable in defence one on one .

When we played them in round 7 Foz was halfback , Lyon five eighth and DCE was missing. They had Tate , Wright and Rona in the backline , but tomorrow have a very different looking backline with Moga , Linnett and Winterstein. Tate was given an absolute bath in defence in round 7. Linnett can be very vulnerable in defence and Moga was essentially a winger before his 2 knee re-constructions. So , apart from sending plenty of traffic towards Thurston , there should be value in getting the opposition centres to make as many reads as possible .

Tactics for tomorrow.

Try not to lose and embarrass ourselves

Big ask with a team on one leg and not talking to each other.

Didn't Linnet get suspended ?

Linnett took the early guilty plea and is free to play.

We'll need to stop Matt Scott first and foremost. If he makes his usual 200 metres we'll be in trouble. It really will be up to our forwards (the ones still standing) to do a job from here on in, and this is as good a test as any…

Isn't Lui on our side?

The Cowboys right side defence is Lui/Moga/Feldt. Feldt is quite poor in defence positionally speaking , often leaving too big a space between himself and Moga. Expect Matai to attack this channel, or even Jorge running an outside/in line. I suspect most of the attack will be aimed there, and in the space around Robert Lui (especially a short inside pass to exploit Lui's slow slide in defence ).

Run at JT all night just keep sending traffic his way and sniff around for the inside ball it will limit his cover and make him work extra hard tiring him out, you kill two birds with on stone

So Penriff winning by 13+ or the Cows winning will knock Scumos out of the Top 4 and deny them two bites at the cherry.
Although they will still get a home Final in the first week.

I would still love to have Manly get their first MP this Century

Just as well Snake is playing because our strength is Snake chiming into the backline especially on the left forcing indecision in the defensive line. . A short inside ball to Snake from Matai or Foran might catch Lui out. .

Penrith don't need to win by 13+...they just need to win and the storm drop to the bottom half of the draw.
