hate the phrase - but love the effort
Still basking in the glow of that effort last night, and one thing stood out to me more than anything was the small additional efforts we put in last night.
The running off the ball, the extra commitment to play it quickly or getbup in defence
One action typified it all for me:
If you have a look at the replay of the Blake Green 40/20 in the first half (what a bloody kick - that is 3 in two weeks...!!!) as the ball trickled in to touch, not a single player saw it coming. No one was within cooee of the ball.... except for a rampaging DCE. He was the first in the chase, sprinting like his life depended on it, even though it was a 40/20 from the moment it hit the boot.
Love that level of effort and commitment.
IF (and it's a big IF) we bring THAT commitment to the ground next week, we will be playing in week two of finals.
Great work team
