Tim Grant

Apparently the Panthers have granted Tim (see what I did there ?) a release, and in a honourable move, he has agreed to give up his salary this season so that the Panthers can exclude him from the cap, and sign someone else. Suspicious or truly honourable ?

Probably would have only been on around $250;000, and seeing contracts begin getting paid in November, that means around 75% has already being paid and included in the cap

Depends why he is asking for a release - didn;t read the article, but if he's got a better offer in the UK, the club doesn't have to pay him anyway, do they?

I think you’ll find he knows he can’t play , and unlikely to ever again so has stepped down immediately.

I don’t see this as underhand.

Inglis however!!!

Bizarre as after surgery he will need rehab which would be supplied by the Riff if he stayed

Maybe he has medical insurance that gives 100% cover :nerd:

All of this sounds 100% kosher to me, however if it happened to be a Manly player then you know what would happen

Tim Grant is a legend. Knew he was gone and steps aside for his club. Can't ask more than that in this day and age. I'm sure the club will thank him in some (non-GI) way and I'm all for it
