Reality:
It's time for even the most one-eyed die hard tragics to admit that the we can't go back to back.
Losing 6 out of 8 is going to make it tough for us to even scrape into the eight.
Unless something extremely miraculous happens there will be more losses.
In '07 and '08 we were on fire and hardly even considered by rep selectors. This season we suck and they're going to select quite a few of us.
For those of us who have no interest in supporting any back-up teams it's seems like it's going to be a long season.

The light - for one-eyed tragics:
There is still time left to find some form.
B.Stewart due back in round 18 - could possibly return earlier.
Change of thinking - The team needs to think, "We can win this match," instead of, "We can't lose this match."

A list of the following matches and Nicci's ratings on possible wins:

9. Broncos (go camping or something next weekend)
10. Eels (strong chance of a win)
11. Titans (tough one - though in with a slight chance)
12. We'll beat that Bye team by 50.
13. Roosters (can win this)
14. Panthers (in with a chance)
15. Raiders (strong chance of winning)
16. Bye - this time by 60.
17. Bulldogs at Brookie (seems like a loss on form but anything can happen at Brookie)
18. Dragons (B.Stewart back, Dragons firing - a win would be an upset)
19. Sharkies (both teams suck this year, hopefully they suck more - we win)
20. Knights (tough match 50/50)
21. Tigers (another 50/50 - somebody slip Benji some sleeping pills)
22. Bunnies (hopefully a win)
23. Roosters (two under-performers so far, Eagles to find form by then and win)
24. Storm (maybe another camping trip - though they're not as tough at home as past)
25. Sharkies - Brookie (We'll smash those thugs)
26. Titans - Brookie (Eagles to finish competition rounds with a winning double at Brookie)

Go the Mighty Eagles!

just go camping in the Himalayas and be done with it
Do they play rugby league in the Himalayas and is there a maroon and white team? Or is there good enough reception in a snow camp to watch the '08 GF weekly on a portable dvd player until season '09 is over?

The way we are playing at present, I would only count on getting the 2 points in rounds 12 & 16
It doesn't look good at all but it will get better. Expectations are out the window now. Terrible start to the year, but Hasler's a good coach and though they're not performing yet the playing roster is still good. Wins will come.

You don't need reception for a dvd. You use a disc.

Well, some light may be that in the NRL this season, what you least expect has been happening consistently

So maybe next week we will win :p

they can work off batteries

and some more light for me is that I can steal my mates yard glass tonight and forget completely about the season so far

Just totally depressed. Then go to my daughter's hockey game. They have 30 shots on goal including a penalty stroke. The other time gets into the circle twice and wins 2-1. It can't get any worse can it.

Funny how a winning footy team can cover all sorts of other bad stuff in your life but when your team is doing poorly it all looks gloomy. Even worse when 300 kids each week remind you how well Manly are doing!!!! :(
I actually meant that I would need electricity to charge a portable dvd player, and that would require a nearby electricity station and functional electrical wiring, but thankyou for the technological updates as I was about to plug my television into a tree but you guys saved me.

You actually can plug your telly into a tree. Although who'd have thunk it?

The inventor Gordon Wadle is currently trying to tap an electric current from trees. Yes it sounds crazy, but we’re very enthusiastic about (very) alternative energies and as we know there is a thin line between genius and madness! It will be interesting to see which of these this idea turns out to be. According to Engadget Wadle has so far only been able to produce a voltage of between .8 and 1.2-volts

Got worse. Totally dominated soccer match today, had all the shots and lost two nil. Both goals should have been disallowed. We missed 6 sitters!!!
That's a fabulous piece a trivia Eagle Rock and it's great news for koalas because it means that they'll be able to watch some telly for the four hours a day that they're awake.

I am considering strapping the boots back on next weekend as well, hopefully that doesn't turn out the same if I end up doing it. 4 of my mates from cricket play in a side, and last night 2 of them were on crutches, 1 has his arm in a sling and the other was limping round with a bad hammy LOL
