Had the great pleasure of meeting him after a speech he did. Awesome bloke to listen to.

Loved Bobby. Had the great pleasure of meeting him with my boss at a function in ‘85. I wasn’t even supposed to be there. I was just an apprentice and was a late fill in for our big boss and owner. I had a soft drink in my hand, and Bobby’s moving down the line doing the meet and greet, he gets to my boss does the intros, then Bobby says to my boss, why hasn’t he got a beer? My boss says he’s only 17. Bobby looks at him and says ‘Well I’m not going to say anything if you don’t!"Bobby moves on, my boss, to his credit says if the PM of Australia says ok, then what am I to do....then he promptly comes back with a schooner of New for me. I was a good boy back then, so that was officially my first beer ever. My boss and I dined out on that story for years. He was one of a kind. RIP Bob.
