Why on earth is Gallen in the Australian side?  He is just a rabid, scurvy dog.  Runs on and straight away hits someone high, grinds their face and gets into a blue.  How we get a penalty out of that is beyond me.  Then he gets sat on his backside to concede a try and falls off another tackle for another.  He is nothing but a niggle merchant, giving away cheap penalties and a very ordinary player anyway.

Then we have Gidley - who looks like he is permanently hypnotised.  The minute he comes onto the side (for who, not Smith?) Australia concede two soft tries.  Why is he anywhere near the 17?

Both should not be in the team but the media have a love affair with both for some reason. Maybe Luke Williamson gave them the same 'goat' pictures he had of Des and Sheens!!!!

Good to see the Ossies beaten, yet again.  Sheens is an old nobody.  The team he picked is crap and deserved to get beat.  It craps me that the Storm trio got us out of trouble once again.  Gidley, Gallen and a couple of others are just not up to rep standard.  I hope they get beat by twenty come the final of this crap series.

Did the NSW selectors get a piece of this poor goat too?

Agree 100% Matas. How Gallen keeps getting picked is beyond me. There is a difference between playing with a bit of mongrel and being one. Hayne touched the ball about 3 times. I guess the prospect of taking runs 1 or 2 straight into the kiwi forwards and getting smashed doesn't appeal to him. Inglis was just awesome, almost MOTM - but you would have to give that to the kiwis for their fantastic defense.

I enjoyed the next time Gallen took the ball up, Luke put a good shot on him and I am pretty sure he lost the ball as well and Luke looked ready to go again if he wanted too

Hoffman's selection is unbelievable for me, and I had a laugh when Matai was squaring up to him and he wanted no piece of it.

White certainly doesn't worry me when he comes off the bench

Sheens, 1 finals appearance in 13 seasons and he somehow got the Aussie gig

Your being cyncial now KE, dont foregt all the premierships Sheens won with Canberra, even though he had a team that would take up two salary caps now - Meninga, Clyde,Daley, Stuart, Chicka, Belcher, Lazerus.......

I didn't watch all the game but the bits that i did i didn't see Mattai clutch at his neck or shoulder once after making a tackle.

Did he go down injured at any time during the game?

In about the 78th minute he flexed his shoulder but as the game was on the line it was whilst he was getting back into the defensive line.

Only to 2007 but here are some records

Tim Sheens Wins Wests Tigers 2003-2007 60/132 (45%) North Queensland 1997-2001 27/103 (26%) Canberra 1988-1996 148/219 (68%) Penrith 1984-1987 43/98 (44%)
Des Hasler Manly 2004-2007 64/112 (57%)
Wayne Pearce Wins Wests Tigers 2000 11/26 (42%) Balmain 1994-1999 49/131 (37%)
Ivan Cleary Wins Warriors 2006-2007 29/58 (50%)
Stuart Raper Wins Cronulla 2004-2006 31/73 (42%)
Brian Smith Wins Newcastle 2007 14/33 (42%) Parramatta 1997-2006 138/243 (57%) St George 1991-1995 69/116 (59%) Illawarra 1984-1987 32/93 (34%)

Sure a lot depends on team but still....

Beaten again?? 20-20..................? However I do agree with everything else you have said!!

I'm yet to see this match but very glad the Aussies snuck in for a draw. A loss would have been shameful.

Much as I hate to admit it Gallen had an absolutely huge game against the Poms. His contribution was easily better than Hindmarsh's. And, as usual, Inglis is completely in a class of his own. Robbie Farrar? pfftt! Leave Smith on.

I thought Farah added something when he came on MB

Hodges has been non existent so far in the 2 tests

Hard game to read that one, Australia looked great in the 1st half, and England looked good while Australia looked average in the 2nd half

I thought the subs in the forwards were pretty ordinary. I don't read too much into the second half as we shut up shop and they had enough ball to win 12 games. Gallen played better but we didn't utilise Choc's strengths - his game was mixed with some good and bad.
