I was talking today with a mate of mine who also follows Manly about this round's match against the Storm. We came up with an interesting scenario that I would like to pose to other fans. If young Hoppa is not right to come into the side this Saturday, what does everyone think about keeping Robertson on the wing, bring...ing Whare or Bailey into the centres and moving Jamie Lyon to fullback? This probably won't happen, but I thought it may be a good topic for discussion.

Fullback is a specialist position, if Killer was put back there earlier in the year no problem but not at this end of the season I'd say. Plus, we need him at centre anyway. Robbo will be solid but from memory when he is at the back he is a very long way back, so we may be vulnerable to short chip kicks...
Yeah, I know that perhaps we would be weakening the centres, especially defensively, by putting Lyon at fullback, but looking at it we thought, well he can catch (good under the high ball), he would run it back hard on kick returns and given he is probably our most potent attacking player this year, he could do some real damage seeing as fullbacks have the freedom to drift all over the park and chime into the attack when they sniff an opportunity.

i agree i had this in thought when snake got injured in round 1..but new it would weaken the centre position...if we had another great or experinced centre it may of been an option with des earlyer but with wolfy injuried it didnt help...i think it is to late now..robbo will have to do or if we continue losing give hoppa ago..

He started there from the beginning of the year pretty much, not with just over a month to go to the finals. It's crazy to think about putting Lyon there now.
IMO i don't think fullback suits Lyon. He is more value for us in the centres or 5/8.
