I thought this was overdue for a mention (unless I missed another post)

NSW are looking to take out the game for the third year in a row and for anyone who missed or could not be bothered with (the best parts) of the Women's WC last year, it should be well worth watching for a tough, old school game of league.

Saw the corresponding game live last year, it was a good ‘un - very much reminded me of the good old days before the NRL turned to crap. Ruan Sims hits harder than her brothers (I know she’s not playing next week, just making the point there will be big hits in the women’s game too), and there’s a lot less structure and legitimised cheating (obstructions, blockers protecting catchers, the ground and pound BJJ routine after every tackle etc), and a lot more variation in attack. Reminded me a lot of ‘90s footy, TBH.

Qld are basically playing the Australian side. In saying that...GO Chelsea Baker! Chelsea is from Gladstone and all good things come out of there!! lol

Butch is excited, but realistic. It'd be a miracle for the Qld squad to get a win, IMO.

Actually, when Butch (Hetherington) was announced as coach, I asked him if he needed any assistans to help rub the girls down before and after the game. He told he could get me plane tickets to Perth. I asked him if they were playing in Perth and he said, "Nah...but that's where you have to go to get in line for that job". Haha!

What’s the BJ routine if it’s not a rude question.

Lol, you missed the second J there! BJJ = Brazilian jiu jitsu. It seems to be the martial art/wrestling field that most of the NRL teams train in.

‘Ground and pound’ is what the BJJ/MMA (mixed martial arts) fighters call the bit where they get their opponent on the ground, straddle them and belt them with punches, elbows, whatever to get them to tap out.

Oh thanks for that Yoka. Thought I had been redirected to a porn site for a moment.
