Wooden Spoon

Except he pointedly said he hasn’t retired…..

What the market thinks is another thing but then hey, Big Mal is coaching an NRL team again in 2027 and we all know his strike rate at club level.
Its better than our current coach. Refer below.

Mal's Canberra coaching record:

Seispoon's coaching record:

Yep, even if we beat 2 of those spoon teams we will be in the semis.

Interesting, Ryles has done more positives in one year than someone else we know in 3 years. Any guesses?
I thought those pricks were on a winner with Ryles quickly when the first thing he did was move the clown Gutherson on straight away.

You could tell Gutho was slowing down for 2 x years but his status as some sort of club legend and fan favourite over there was going to be a hard sell

He copped it in the media for that decision especially after the first few rounds.

Iongi looks a better prospect then Hopoate for mine as well in the future at fullback.

What irks me is that 7 teams finished below us on the ladder and we lost games to 5 of them including the last two teams. Inexcusable! What should have been!
That’s the gob smacking part of 2025.

We beat all of the top 8 ( Cronulla excepted )

And lost to most of the 8 below us , including two bad losses to the two teams who battled it out for the wooden spoon !!!

🤷🤷🤷🤷🤷🤷🤷🤷🤷🤷🤷🤷🤷🤷🤷🤷

I’ve been saying for a while , the targets aren’t the superstars ( too much $$$) , the targets should be good players , sitting in reserves unable to get past the players in front of them.

@mickqld pointed one out in yesterdays game , number 11 , Noah Martin from Canberra , he was a hard working forward and would be ideal.

There’s probably loads of others , imagine the dozens lining up for the Penrith club.

Now , possibly under contract but that means bugger all these days.

If Tommy Talau is leaving us for a starting spot / slightly more money there will be many others just like him.

We have spots to fill in the run on side , or at worst in the bench , that surely will be appealing.
Ok. All good points. I hope you're correct.

We also lost to the Dogs as well. We don't deserve to be there if we lost to all the teams below at least once except the Cowboys and Rabbits. The 2 point loss to the Dragons, the Golden point loss to the Knights and the inexcusable loss to the Titans is what cost us.

I’ve gone cold on the idea of Hoppa at 1. He’s a great last line in defence and safe under the high ball but as he has put weight on to handle the rigours of FG, he’s lost pace. He’s also not much of a ball player. I really like him but think he might be a winger.

I doubt he will get another gig in Australia. Maybe he'll go to the UK.
