Nice goal but you really need to be an uber-fan to appreciate many football matches.

Congratz to the Germans.

Opinion seems to be they were indeed the best team of the tournament.

Argies had some great chances which they could not convert and a good finisher in extra time

I thought it was a fantastic Final with plenty of real chances. Much better than most big games. The negative was that the chances weren't converted but the advantage was the extra time. It wasn't Messi's day and by his standards it was poor but he is still a legend.

Amen to that re Messi and as a big fan that I am off him, I don't feel he was the best of the tournament and in the latter stages I thought Di Maria & Mascherano were far better than him in the team. Gutted they lost though when they should have won it. For those non soccer experts, a game doesn;t have to have 20, 30 or more points to make it interesting. point in case is the finals game between the Roosters v Manly last year which was a gripping game with only 1 try and a total of 4 points scored. This game was much like that.
