As a side issue, gosh Manly's been blessed with great players with family links. The Stewarts, the Trbojevics, the Blakes, and even though I know its been problematic, The Hopoates. Great to see. Could also have been the Fainus but it seemed a bridge too far with that family

The Hopoate's being a virtual rugby league talent production line is one of only two reasons I believe that the club has never completely cut ties with John and his family.

The other is that John is one of our 1996 Premiers.

Same as the Dolphins when they were on top for a couple of rounds. While everyone else was celebrating their March/April premiership, Wayne Bennett's silence was loud and clear. He knew they hadn't played anyone of consequence.
