I've been told using the shoulder while in possession of the ball is okay.

Doesn't seem right to me but seems to be allowed?

What makes a shoulder charge from the player with the ball any less dangerous than a shoulder charge by a would be tackler?

Nothing, except one is allowed and the other isn't.

Makes sense? Didn't think so.....

It maybe allowed but if a defender can't shoulder charge, no way in the world a ball carrier should be

He’s the type of player we need. Very vocal on the field, directs his team well and it’s crazy how much work he does off the ball. He very rightly gets praise for his great fitness and high involvement. Parra have overachieved this year and I think what he provides to the side is a cause for it

But a ball carrier can get pinged for putting the forearm/elbow up but not the shoulder at full tilt.
