Came across this semi interesting stat on the eels page, thought I might copy paste it over to share.

My fellow Eels fans,

Today I was thinking to myself just how bad the Eels have been going over the past 4 years. I know we made a Grand Final in 09 but other than that it`s been very bad as my stats will show.

I thought I would do a tally of how many weeks each club has been in the top 8 since round 1 2008.

DRAGONS - 88 WEEKS
BRONCOS - 80 WEEKS
STORM - 79 WEEKS ( inc missing most 2010 )
EAGLES - 78 WEEKS
TITANS - 70 WEEKS
TIGERS - 57 WEEKS
PANTHERS - 53 WEEKS
KNIGHTS - 52 WEEKS
ROOSTERS - 51 WEEKS
BULLDOGS - 44 WEEKS
WARRIORS - 35 WEEKS
COWBOYS - 34 WEEKS
SHARKS - 27 WEEKS
RABBITOHS - 27 WEEKS
EELS - 13 WEEKS
RAIDERS - 12 WEEKS.

So over the past 4 seasons, thats close enough to 100 weeks, the Eels have been in the top 8 for only 13 weeks.

Basically what I would of expected the stats to look like except a couple of surprises.
Titans in 5th with 70 after winning the spoon this year, higher then what I would of thought.
Sharks I would of thought would be last followed closely by the eels.

How much higher would we have been but for the events of 2009 and Hasler's unfortunate deviation from proven training methods in 2010?

2009 and 2010 should have yielded at least a prelim final or 2 and a GF with the squad we had. Bad decisions by coaching and training staff cost us with too many injuries and poor 2nd halves due to **** training methods.

Didnt have a playmaker in 2010,no way were we ever going to win it,we lacked creativity

Also the training change was ****ed on the squad, great for about 60 minutes

It took us till about late June/early July in 09 before we hit the 8 and stayed there. We could so easily have topped that chart.

I cannot understand how the original person is so suprised and how hopeless the Eels are - Blind Freddy could have told anyone that even without having to go to the stats.

Didn't Kearney want out anyway. It would be a pretty hard school to punt him so quickly. How long has he been there??

Exactly. Even in '09 when they made the GF they scraped into 8th place and only got their in the closing rounds after spending almost the entire season outside the 8.
