    2027 is when the Turbos come off contract so renegotiations with them will start prior to November 30th 2026. I assume the club intends to make them a reduced offer to free up more cap space so we can go to market for 2027 with a full wallet.

    This would have been the perfect thing to do had he not gone on 100% Footy to make his announcement. Now that the cat is out of the bag, the only way I see it ending is him getting an early release to stop the impact on the team (which may have been his goal all along).

    I'm not looking for any reason to dislike him, I've been one of his supporters on here oftentimes when others have been putting the boot in. I'm just not happy with how he's gone about this. Foran was criticised heavily for what he did & was also accused of dogging it for his final season here...

    To be fair, Preston himself has said he wasn't in the right frame of mind the day he trialled for Manly & therefore didn't do too well. Combine that with the club's newly (at that time) developed western pathways program, the club's focus was definitely not on local juniors for that period...

    It's not just DCE's contract though, it's the other factors I stated in my post too IMO. We've been hamstrung by DCE's contract, Turbo's injuries, Manase's court case dragging on, Schuster's inability to get fit, & the ripple effects of all of them.
