Tof Sipley

I don't want to knock Burbo who is a reasonable first grader, but if we are to go to the next level we need a more mobile/talented second rower. Preston, the local junior now playing for Canterbury, would be ideal imo.
He would, however I believe the Dishlickers have locked him up longterm.

Momentum (6 again killed us) just thought he was unfairly left out in the post.
Yeah that sh*t gasses the big blokes… and it shows in his stats that he was made to ‘make’ twice as many tackles…

Overall his stats show what I saw visually though… impact was low against warriors…

Warriors (80min) - 8 runs for 75m (36m post-contact), 3.97s PTB speed and 35 tackles with 7 misses

Cows (67min) - 15 runs for 167m (68m post-contact), 3.68s PTB speed and 20 tackles with 0 misses

Raiders (73min) - 15 runs for 227m (88m post--contact), 3.78s PTB speed and 15 tackles with 4 misses

Problem for Manly without Paseka is we are really going to need Sips this year.
He often takes a few games to build up to full steam, then starts looking good but then gets hurt or suspended.
I thought just from the look of him he seems extremely fit to start this year?
He got exposed yesterday but I think part of that was having too many large slow-ish forwards on at once.
I'll be interested to see how he goes, he's always showed glimpses of ability.

I know Sips. Over the Christmas period/off season he lost a ****load of weight and leaned up. He is more motivated than ever to give his best and had been putting in the work but obviously something isn't clicking. I hope it works out for him

id prefer patolo
Have watched Patolo in last few games in the Reserves. Certainly has the physical appearance but also seems to be not very mobile at the moment. Played more minutes yesterday but perhaps needs more game time to increase fitness/mobility levels. But hopefully could be a handy pick-up in the Firsts.

“Glimpses” is right and therein lies the problem. Needs to step up.

Sips is such a great guy, but I hate to say that he is barely 1st grade quality, let alone a "good" NRL prop. The club has 2-3 guys that would be considered of suitable standard. Paseka's injury is a massive blow to our chances this year.

Whilst it won't be a good idea long term due to burn out, but for the immediate future at least, I would be shifting Haumole to the middle, and using guys like Schoupp, Talau, Vaega as edge forwards.

Jeez, our middle third was pathetic yesterday.
