Jake is nowhere near the attacking value as Cam Murray and others as he lacks the speed to be a threat, but his involvement even in backline sweeps and decoy/option runs is often overlooked and he still does have a nice tip on pass and inside ball and the hard part to value is his impact to his...- maxta

Personally feel Jake is on VERY big money compared with to other "quality " lock forwards , but will say 1 thing. There are certain players that as a team mate, you look for on the field who you know will have your back 100%, not because they are great players, simply all heart....Jake fits this...- maxta

I reckon that's a fair summary Ryan - in fact 1 game against Melbourne he got repeatedly ragdolled and off 2 kickoffs gave 1 penalty away (with the ball) after being driven back and then spilt the ball off the next kickoff....but here's the kicker with Brown, he then stuck his hand up for the...- maxta

The off season signings of the 2 experienced forwards Taukeiaho and Jazz Tevaga had had mixed reviews. Can these players add what Brown gave Manly in 2024 with that impact off the bench, in fact will they even make the top 17 ? I believe they have been signed to play significant roles...- maxta

1 thing for sure, if Manly are to challenge come finals time, need more than Croker at 9 to add thrust in the middle or again will be eliminated with a whimper The 1 man Turbo thing is not a winning formula and need to add more attacking threats , which all start through the middle- maxta

The game has moved on from me and a lot of people from my generation
I love the game before, then and now and agree with everything regarding the abilities.....it's almost cheatcard with some of the physical abilities of the modern player. The only part of todays game i feel lacks the yesteryear appeal is "playing what's in front of you" as there are so many...- maxta

That's 100% the kid with a big future......thing is as we all learn over time, the ability is a gift and a Massive bonus, but unless there's great discipline and hard work off the field....there are no guarantee's, but the wraps on him are pretty good relating to attitude so hopes are high !!- maxta

The reasons we haven't recruited much is salary cap and no need Only need to tweak key areas and stay uninjured to be in the contest Will be Top 4 in 2025 and that opinion is of some far higher rated than mine- maxta
