    Pre-Game Manly V Cowboys [Round 1, 2025]

This is a much better pack than the last time we played the Cowboys, in Townsville. We pretty much matched them there, and this time around, they don't have Taumalolo (probably). Taumalolo played for 55 mins and made 215m last time. 8. Sipley -> Paseka 9. Simpkin -> Tevaga 10. Aloiai ->...

    Pre-Game Manly V Cowboys [Round 1, 2025]

The last two times we had both Waddell and Sipley on the bench, we played the Panthers. We beat them the first time, and were goalkicking away from beating them the second time. It isn't about the cattle, it's the attitude and fitness. Would prefer a fit Waddell over an unfit Aloiai every day...

    Pre-Game Manly V Cowboys [Round 1, 2025]

Would suspect he would only play the opening 20 or so there. Simpkin for the rest of the game.

    Pre-Game Manly V Cowboys [Round 1, 2025]

Aloiai and Brown still out. Waddell and Sipley in. Aloiai in reserves. Tevaga starting hooker, with Simpkin on bench... Not liking this, but I suppose injuries force these changes. Aloiai will probably play I think.

Round 1 side , your best guess

Word is going around on social media that Talau hasn't been able to overcome his ankle injury just yet, and won't be fit for round one whatsoever, neither starting or on the bench. Saab ready to go and locked into the other wing spot. Explains why he hasn't been sighted in training pictures...

    Just Making up the numbers?

I agree with you there, we were hopelessly out of our depth against the Roosters, but were strong against another "rookie" finals team in the Dogs. I probably disagree with you, in the sense that I think that we will improve in the finals. The team wasn't fit enough against the Roosters, but...

One has to go ... who ?

I think that would be for the final year of the new contract (2027), if it isn't just dribble by people with no insight. Would make some sense if he displaces Turbo to centre that year. No DCE, and probably Jake on less too. If that figure is over the next three seasons (25,26,27), that comes...

Round 1 side , your best guess

Tevaga doesn't turn 30 until September. Not sure what you're talking about with regards to him at hooker, in recent years, Egan has been playing close to 80, hence there wasn't much need for Jazz there. Tevaga is certainly better suited to the middle, but can cover hooker for someone like...

The boys have gone absolutely viral on this one, got 6 million views so far... Go to the comments if you want to see how marketing the NRL to Americans actually happens 😂😂😂 To the dismay of all of them, Reubs is engaged... Has a million on Tiktok too:

Round 1 side , your best guess

SEIBOLD SORTS BACK FIVE Sea Eagles coach Anthony Seibold has confirmed four members of his side’s back five for the round one showdown against the Cowboys, with Jason Saab, Tommy Talau and Clayton Faulalo fighting it out for the vacant right wing spot. His comments came just minutes after young...

Jake Trbojevic offers nothing in attack

The reason is that Turbo was barely on the field between 2022-2024. If you read the article, it says that if he had played more games than he did, he'd easily shoot up the rankings. What those salaries are based on, is what we have had on the field, not potential, talent, etc. If you play less...

Jake Trbojevic offers nothing in attack

There's a few fans of the Eye Test on here. Great statistical analysis, beyond the stupid surface level stats people preach on here. Seibold said the other day that one of the key statistics he uses is run metres/PTB, which is what these guys have been posting about for years. He did his salary...

    Trial V Panthers

Apparently the NYC will return next year from what I've heard. If that's the case, it's practically a certainty that our halves pairing in that will be Walsh/Large to prep them for first grade in 2027. Very similar to DCE / Foz back in like 2009.

    Caleb Navale

Something that hasn't been noted is that Croker absolutely carries our line speed, something which Simpkin doesn't do often. It's a team-wide deficiency.

    Trial V Panthers

I personally like looking at a lot of statistical analysis, and this article was one of the best I'd seen. https://www.maroonobserver.com/p/charting-a-new-course-part-1-players This line stuck out to me when they analysed "Wins above replacement rate", or in this case, "Wins above [a] reserve...

    Caleb Navale

It's good depth everywhere except the back row. Burbo goes down, like he usually does, or Olakau'atu plays origin, and we have some problems there. I think Waddell is more of a middle, as is Bullemor, leaving only MCK. Admittedly Chee Kam did play well in this latest trial. Made some good PCM's.

    Jake Arthur

It's probably the likelihood that when Walsh makes the step up into NSW cup, they'll move Jake Arthur into the lock role. I'd expect him to be playing in the halves until at least Origin, to prepare him for DCE cover. No way DCE plays Origin in 2026, so his guaranteed time in the NRL is gone...
